The SAS Collective is dedicated to advocating for Specialist, Associate Specialist, and Specialty Doctors and improving their careers.

Logo of the SAS collective

The SAS Collective was formed by a group of passionate SAS doctors dedicated to advocating for Specialty and Specialist doctors in the NHS.

We are a grassroots movement and our mission is to drive meaningful change, support career development, and improve working conditions for SAS doctors.

We seek to credit the and build on the great work done by national organisations such as the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges SAS committee, the BMA, NHS employers, NHS England, the GMC and many others.

What is the #SASsix?

The #SASsix is a campaign by the SAS Collective advocating for six key improvements to enhance the careers of Specialist, Associate Specialist, and Specialty Doctors in the NHS. These six asks focus on equitable access to educational supervision, leadership roles, SAS contracts for long-term Locally Employed (LE) doctors, professional development opportunities, pathways to the Specialist grade, and roles in education.

Together, these changes aim to support career progression, job satisfaction, and the vital contributions of SAS doctors across the NHS.
